<p>City Ethics was in its infancy stage in the early 2000's when I got a letter in the mail. (Yes, an actual handwritten letter.) "Do you need any help with research?" asked Rob. "Yes", was the immediate answer and the beginning of a wonderful partnership and friendship with Rob. His first project was the compilation of municipal ethics codes with the view towards synthesizing them into a Model Code. Not too many people could confront doing such an enormous project, but he did it. Then he continued to develop open source (free) municipal ethics resources that were the "firsts" in the field, such as the "<a href="http://www.cityethics.org/ethics%20book">Ethics Programs 2.0</a>" and his recent <a href="http://www.cityethics.org/publications/draft-chapter-on-lobbying">book on lobbying.</a> It is an amazing foundation for starting or improving municipal ethics programs and one that has been used by cities across the U.S. </p>
<p>So thank you, Rob, for your tireless work and dedication to the cause. Your work is appreciated by many.</p>
<p>Now, who will write the next letter (or email!) to me asking "do you need help with CityEthics?". There is much to do, much to create. The fight against local government corruption is at an interesting stage. I welcome your ideas; your help is needed. Please email me to discuss.</p>
